Atlas of earthquakes in the USSR
|
Results of observations of the seismic stations network in the USSR 1911 - 1957 |
The development of instrumental observations at the beginning of the 20th century
led to the registration of a large number of earthquakes in different regions of
Northern Eurasia. The instrumental data obtained from the network of stationary
stations in the USSR from 1911 to 1957 were collected, processed according to a unified
technique with an assessment of the reliability of the results, and were included
in the "Atlas of Earthquakes of the USSR".
The observation results are presented in the form of earthquake catalogues for the
entire territory of the USSR and for each of the seismic regions of the USSR territory.
Catalogues are parametric, i.e. include the standard values of the parameters of each earthquake:
the moment of occurrence, the position of the source with an estimate of the accuracy of its determination,
the intensity (magnitude) of the earthquake.
Additionally, for some zones, information is given for the historical period and instrumental data up to 1911.
